At Zaytun AI (“Zaytun AI,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), your privacy is a top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our services, including the Zaytun AI mobile application and any related websites, platforms, or services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Platform.

1) Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

  • Account & Profile: Name, age/date of birth, username, password, language, email, phone number, social media handles, and profile image.
  • User-Generated Content (“UGC”): Comments, photos, livestreams, audio, videos, text, hashtags, virtual item/media, and related metadata (e.g., when, where, and by whom content was created). We may pre-upload content (before you save/post) to enable features like captions, effects suggestions, or recommendations. If you apply an effect, we may retain an original version.
  • Messages: Content of messages, timestamps, participants (e.g., chat with sellers, creator support, or virtual assistants during purchases). Messages you send to other users are visible to them; we are not responsible for how others use or share them.
  • Clipboard (with permission): When you paste into the app or share to third parties.
  • Purchases: Payment details (processed by payment providers), billing/shipping addresses, transaction history, extended warranty information when applicable.
  • Contacts (with permission): Names, phone numbers, emails, and social profiles to help you discover friends.
  • Verification: Identity/age documents (e.g., government ID), seller/creator onboarding/KYC information.
  • Feedback/Participation: Survey responses, contest entries, event registrations, demographics/preferences you choose to provide.
  • Support: Details you share with customer support.

B. Information From Other Sources

  • Third-Party Logins/Links: If you sign up or link via a third party (e.g., Apple, Google, Facebook), we may receive your public profile details, email, and contact list (per your settings with that service).
  • Advertisers/Partners: Interests, purchases, or interactions to power recommendations and measure ads.
  • Affiliates: Usage on affiliated platforms within our corporate family.
  • Other Users: Information about you that others include in UGC or messages.
  • Public/External Sources: Public records, government databases, or other lawful sources.

C. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device: IP address, OS, browser, mobile carrier, time zone, advertising IDs, device model, app/file names and types, battery state, audio settings/devices; internal device and user IDs to help recognize your device(s).
  • Usage: Features used, content viewed, searches, session duration/frequency, in-app actions (e.g., likes, follows, purchases, gifts).
  • Location: Approximate location from SIM/IP or user-added tags (e.g., POIs). We do not collect precise GPS in current versions.
  • Image/Audio Signals: Detected objects/scenes, spoken text, music/audio traits; where permitted and with explicit consent, we may process biometric identifiers (e.g., faceprints/voiceprints) for safety/verification.
  • Metadata: Timestamps, device info, hashtags, captions, account details tied to UGC.
  • Cookies/Tracking: Cookies, pixels, SDKs to remember settings, analyze features, prevent abuse/fraud, and measure/serve ads.

We may aggregate or de-identify data for analytics and safety. Aggregated/de-identified data is not subject to this Policy.

2) How We Use Your Information

We use information to operate, secure, and improve the Platform, including to:

  • Provide core functionality (uploading, live, shop, payments), troubleshoot, analyze, test, research, and survey.
  • Personalize feeds, recommendations, and search results; suggest effects/sounds/products/people.
  • Send service and (where permitted) promotional communications from us or trusted partners.
  • Detect/prevent abuse, spam, fraud, IP violations, money-laundering, chargebacks, and other illegal activities.
  • Show and measure advertising, including interest-based ads and sponsored content.
  • Enable social features (follows, comments, shares, DMs, live chat, seller chat).
  • Use UGC (consistent with your settings and our terms) to promote the Platform.
  • Understand cross-device engagement to improve performance and reliability.
  • Verify identity/age; enforce policies and community safety.
  • Communicate changes to features, terms, or policies; respond to support requests.
  • Run contests, promotions, and events (including winner verification and prize fulfillment).
  • Develop and improve products (including training/testing our algorithms and machine-learning models).
  • Combine data from various sources to enhance user experience and safety.
  • Provide location-tailored content/ads (with your consent where required).
  • Any additional purpose we disclose at collection or with your consent.

We do not engage in automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without appropriate safeguards required by law.

3) How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share as follows:

  • Service Providers & Partners: Payments and order fulfillment, identity/KYC, customer support, analytics/research, cloud hosting, security/fraud prevention, ad measurement. They get only what they need and must protect it.
  • Internal Group Sharing: With corporate affiliates for operations, product development, and compliance (access limited by role).
  • Business Transactions: In a merger, acquisition, or asset sale; your data remains protected per this Policy or successor policy.
  • Legal/Compliance: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, property of Zaytun AI, users, or the public.
  • With Your Permission: When you opt in to connect with third-party services or share data for integrations.
  • Public Content: Anything you post publicly (including comments, live chat, shop reviews) is visible to others.
  • Third-Party Transactions: When you buy from sellers/partners, we share needed order details for payment/fulfillment and fraud prevention. Those third parties process data under their own policies.

4) Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., California/CPRA, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, GDPR/UK GDPR), you may have rights to:

  • Access/Portability: Request a copy of personal information.
  • Correction: Fix inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: Ask us to delete certain information.
  • Restriction/Objection: Limit/oppose specific processing (e.g., targeted ads) as permitted by law.
  • Opt-Out of “Sharing” for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising (CPRA): You can opt out of targeted ads based on your activity across apps/sites.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing relies on consent.

How to exercise: Use in-app settings where available or contact us (see Contact Us). We’ll verify your identity (e.g., email confirmation or ID match). You may use an authorized agent where permitted (we may require proof of authorization). If you disagree with a decision, you may appeal using the instructions we provide in our response.

Sensitive Information: We process sensitive data (e.g., ID docs, limited biometrics where legally permitted and with explicit consent, payment tokens) only as necessary for the service or as required by law.

5) Your Controls

  • Cookie Preferences: Control cookies via browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect features.
  • Advertising Preferences: In-app Ads Preferences lets you limit interest-based ads. You can also use industry tools (e.g., NAI, DAA) on the web and OS-level settings for ad IDs.
  • Device Controls: Manage advertising ID access, microphone/camera access, and location sharing in your device OS.
  • Email Preferences: Unsubscribe via the link in marketing emails. (We may still send non-marketing/service emails.)
  • Account Settings: Review/update profile info, download data (where offered), deactivate or delete your account.
  • Location: Current versions do not collect precise GPS. Older versions (if permitted) can be disabled at the OS level.
  • Do-Not-Track: There’s no industry standard; we currently do not respond to DNT signals.

6) Information Security & Retention

  • Security: We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No method is 100% secure; be mindful when sharing information publicly or with third parties.
  • Retention: We keep data as long as needed for the purposes above, to operate/improve the Platform, for safety/security, to comply with law, and to resolve disputes/enforce policies.
    • Account-tied data: retained while your account is active.
    • Policy violations/fraud: key records may be retained for compliance and safety.
  • Transfers: We may process/store data outside your country (e.g., U.S.). Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms (e.g., SCCs) and appropriate safeguards.

7) Protecting the Privacy of Teens

The Platform is for users 16+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we discover an under-16 account, we will delete the account and associated data.

Parents/Guardians: If you believe a minor under 16 uses the Platform or you need assistance managing a teen’s account, contact us (see Contact Us). Livestreaming, sending/withdrawing virtual earnings, and certain commerce features are 18+ (or age of majority).

8) Additional Rights & Disclosures

  • California “Shine the Light.” California residents may request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing once per year.
  • Removal Requests (CA under 18). California residents under 18 may request removal of content they posted; we will make reasonable efforts, but complete removal may not be possible (e.g., if reposted).
  • Connecticut Residents. Parents/guardians may request deletion for users under 16; residents 16–17 may request deletion themselves.

9) Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in practices or law. We will update the “Last Updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice. Please review regularly.
